Welcome!

Pennsylvania Press Club is affiliated with the National Federation of Press Women, a group formed in 1937 to promote communication among female writers and to advance the interests and standards of women in the press.

Over the years, the organization has evolved and expanded to include women and men involved in all kinds of communication work. This includes reporters, editors, authors, bloggers, designers, artists, photographers, educators and publicists who work for print and online publications, governments, banks, school districts, colleges, nonprofit agencies and in some cases, for themselves.

As a member of PPC/NFPW, you will have opportunities to develop your communication skills, share ideas, travel to state meetings and national conferences, earn recognition for your work and nurture the next generation of communicators. We offer an
annual contest with 64 categories for professional writers and collegians. We offer a separate contest with 23 categories for high school journalists. And for those who freelance, NFPW offers libel insurance at an affordable rate.

Feel free to explore our website’s
photo album for a glimpse of our organization that hosts an annual awards luncheon and whose members travel to national conferences. Also know that in 2018, the Pennsylvania Press Club was proud to host the National Federation of Press Women in Bethlehem, where the annual conference drew members from states as far away as Alaska, Oregon and California. We remain really proud of that accomplishment.

So we welcome you to join the Pennsylvania Press Club for networking, conversation (online or in person at our annual luncheon) and a chance to participate in our popular communications contest.
